City Island library celebrates 'Teen
Read Week'
The Volusia County Library Center - City Island is
offering a variety of programs to celebrate Teen Read Week, Oct. 18 -
24.
Children and teenagers from 11 -19 can take part in
the following activities:
- Reading prize drawing. Fill out an entry
form describing a book you’ve read. Entries will be drawn Oct. 24 for
prizes, which include books, posters and coupons to local restaurants.
- Read and feed. Listen to a story, catch up
on your reading, and enjoy snacks and drinks from 3 - 4:30 p.m.
Monday, Oct. 19; and Wednesday, Oct. 21.
- Extra Wii time. Play your favorite Wii games
in the children’s auditorium from 3:30 - 4:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 23.
- From the pages to film. Watch “Inkheart” at
2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, in the children’s auditorium. Popcorn and
drinks will be provided.
