DEBARY HALL TO HOST RECEPTION FOR ART EXHIBIT
OPENING
DeBary Hall Historic Site will host a wine and cheese reception from
5 - 7 p.m. Friday, March 7, to celebrate the artist of the month
exhibit. The public is invited to this free event sponsored by Volusia
County’s Leisure Services Division.
Ormond Beach artist Don Kennedy will exhibit works in acrylic and
watercolor throughout March. According to Kennedy, his goal is to
produce images that have varying degrees of movement and power while
retaining the delicacy that makes the medium unique. All his work is
done on location or from sketches. He has a studio in Ormond Beach and
paints on the New England coast during the summer.
Those who miss the opening reception may view the artwork while
touring DeBary Hall at regular admission prices. Admission is $5 for
adults, $4 for seniors, $2 for children ages
3 - 12, and free for children under 3. The site is open from
10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, and noon - 4 p.m. Sunday.
DeBary Hall, which is listed on the National Register of Historic
Places, is owned by the state and managed by the County’s Leisure
Services Division. For more information, please call site manager Amber
Patterson at (386) 668-3840.
