TIM
DORSEY TO SPEAK AT ANNUAL AUTHOR LUNCHEON
Tim Dorsey, best-selling author of
Florida Roadkill, Orange Crush, Hammerhead Ranch Motel, Cadillac Beach,
his newest novel Torpedo Juice and more, will be featured at the 25th
annual Friends of the Volusia County Library Center Author Luncheon.
The annual library fundraiser will be
Wednesday, April 27, at noon (11:30 a.m. social time), at the Sunset
Harbor Yacht Club, 841 Ballough Rd., Daytona Beach.
Tickets cost $20 and are available at the
Daytona Beach Regional Library at City Island, 105 E. Magnolia Ave.
Seating is limited. Tickets must be purchased by Friday, April 15.
Dorsey, 43, is a fulltime writer in
Tampa. He grew up an hour north of Miami, was a police/courts reporter
for the Alabama Journal in Montgomery, and was a general reporter,
political reporter and night metro editor for the Tampa Tribune from
1989-1999.
Dorsey's novels are part of a young genre
of macabre comedy, Florida crime fiction. His eccentric characters -
especially the hyperactive spree killer and Florida history buff, Serge
Storms - take a cynical view of Florida tourists, insurance agents,
politicians, police, big business, and criminals that happen to get in
their way.
