CANOE OR KAYAK THE HONTOON RIVER MAY 3

Volusia County Leisure Services will sponsor a four-hour canoe and kayak trip on the Hontoon River Saturday, May 3. The group will embark from Hontoon Island State Park in DeLand at 9 a.m.

Participants should pack a lunch and bring binoculars and sunscreen.

Advance payment and registration are required by April 30. Registrants can pay at the Leisure Services office, 202 N. Florida Ave., DeLand, or download a registration form at www.volusia.org/parks and mail a check and completed form.

The cost is $15 per person or $25 per couple if you have your own craft. For $20 a person or $35 a couple, Leisure Services can provide a canoe, paddle and life preserver.
