ART IN PUBLIC PLACE COMMITTEE TO MEET APRIL 15

The Art in Public Places selection committee for the new Beach Services building will meet at 3 p.m. Tuesday, April 15, in the conference room of the Beach Services Administration Building, 440 S. Beach St., Daytona Beach.

The committee, part of the Cultural Council of Volusia County, will discuss potential art locations in the new facility and consider artists for the project. Artwork will be placed in public areas of the new building, which is under construction on South Atlantic Avenue, next to Sun Splash Park in Daytona Beach.

Volusia County’s Art in Public Places program provides for 0.5 to 1 percent of total construction costs to be set aside for procurement of artwork in public areas of all new, expanded or renovated County buildings.

The public is invited to attend the meeting. In accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act and Florida statutes, persons with disabilities who need special accommodation to participate in the proceedings should request assistance at least two business days before the meeting.

For more information or accommodation, please contact Mike Fincher at (386) 736-5963, ext. 5872, or mfincher@co.volusia.fl.us.
