CULTURAL COUNCIL TO REVIEW APPLICATIONS FOR COMMUNITY CULTURAL GRANT ON MAY 9

The Cultural Council of Volusia County will hold a special meeting to review applications for the fiscal year 2008-2009 Community Cultural Grant program. The meeting will be from 9 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Friday, May 9, in the Volusia County Council Chambers, Thomas C. Kelly Administration Center, 123 W. Indiana Ave., DeLand. The meeting is open to the public.

Twenty-seven nonprofit organizations will present their applications for funding. Each organization will be given a brief opportunity to update Cultural Council members with information about their programs and respond to members’ questions. Applications will be reviewed in reverse alphabetical order.

  • Atlantic Center for the Arts
  • Cinderic Documentaries Inc.
  • Cinematique of Daytona Beach
  • Commemorative Air Force
  • Daytona Beach International Festival
  • Daytona Beach Symphony Society
  • DeBary Art League
  • DeLand Fall Festival of the Arts
  • DeLand Little Symphony
  • Deltona Arts & Historical Center
  • Halifax Historical Museum
  • IMAGES: A Festival of the Arts
  • Iranian American Society
  • Little Theater of New Smyrna
  • Lively Arts Center
  • Museum of Arts & Sciences
  • Museum of Florida Art
  • Ormond Beach Historical Trust
  • Ormond Memorial Art Museum & Gardens
  • Pioneer Settlement for the Creative Arts
  • Sands Theater Center Inc.
  • Sister Cities of Volusia County
  • Surfscape Contemporary Dance Theater
  • West Volusia Historical Society

Grant scores will be announced, but recommended award amounts will be determined at a later date upon completion of the County’s annual budgeting process. Final approval of all recommendations rests with the Volusia County Council. Funding for this grant program comes from Volusia County Government’s general fund allocation for cultural and heritage programs.
