CLYDE MORRIS ACCESS TO HAND AVENUE RESTRICTED

Eastbound access to Hand Avenue from Clyde Morris Boulevard in Ormond Beach will be restricted for one week beginning Monday, April 21. Additionally, westbound traffic on Hand Avenue will not be able to turn onto Clyde Morris Boulevard.

Motorists needing to access Hand Avenue east of Clyde Morris Boulevard may do so from Nova Road. The detour is from West Granada Boulevard east to Nova Road, and from Nova Road south to Hand Avenue.

Access to business and residential properties will not be restricted. Area businesses have been notified of the closure, and electronic signs have been placed near the intersection alerting motorists.

The temporary closure is necessitated by road construction on Clyde Morris Boulevard, which is being widened from two to four lanes from LPGA Boulevard in Daytona Beach to Falls Way in Ormond Beach. This 3.1-mile project began in November 2006 and is scheduled for completion in August. The total cost will exceed $9 million.

The project is being funded by Volusia County in partnership with the City of Ormond Beach.

For updated information about the closure, contact the county’s construction manager, Todd Buckles, at (386) 736-5967, ext. 2468, or (386) 561-0643 or go to www.volusia.org/coneng.
