L.B. Knox Bridge remains closed

The L.B. Knox Bridge, which crosses the Halifax River north of Ormond Beach, will be closed until further notice. As a result, Highbridge Road from John Anderson Drive to Walter Boardman Lane also will be closed.
The bridge was closed June 6 after it was struck by lightning and experienced a system malfunction that made it inoperable. A crew from Volusia County’s Road and Bridge Division opened the bridge manually to permit boat traffic until the bridge is repaired. Parts have been ordered, and the bridge will be repaired after they arrive.
