The University of Florida/IFAS Extension will
present the Small Farms and Alternative Enterprises Conference Aug. 1 -
2 at Osceola Heritage Park, 1875 Silver Spur Lane, Kissimmee.
Seminar topics will include grass-fed beef,
pastured poultry production, honey bees, solar energy applications and
biofuels, organic and sustainable production, horticulture, hydroponics,
business and marketing, and policies and regulations.
Featured speakers will include Florida Agriculture
and Consumer Services Commissioner Charles Bronson and John Ikerd,
professor emeritus of agricultural economics at the University of
Missouri Columbia.
The conference will be presented in an
air-conditioned arena, and a trade show will include more than 70
exhibitors. The registration fee is $100 for one day or $140 for both
days.
