KIDS CAN LEARN HOW TO GET THEIR ANIMALS READY
FOR THE COUNTY FAIR
The University of Florida/Volusia County Extension will present two
free 4-H grooming and showmanship clinics to show youth how to prepare
their animals for competition at the Volusia County Fair.
Kids can bring a chicken to the fowl clinic from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Friday, Aug. 15, at the Extension Auditorium, 3100 E. New York Ave.,
DeLand. The instructor will explain anatomy and demonstrate basic
conditioning, bathing and grooming.
Tips on grooming and showing sheep, goats, pigs and rabbits will be
given from 8 - 10:45 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, at the Volusia County
Fairgrounds livestock pavilion, 3150 E. New York Ave. Participants may
bring a bunny or guinea pig for practice.
