Port Orange Regional Library to participate
in stacking event Nov. 12

The Port Orange Regional Library will participate in an international effort to break the sport stacking record Thursday, Nov. 12.

Children and adults are invited to stop by the library from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. and stack specially designed cups in prescribed patterns for at least 30 minutes.

The activity is part of the fourth annual World Sport Stacking Association “Stack up,” which is sanctioned by the Guinness Book of World Records and sponsored by Wonderful® Pistachios. At last year’s event, 222,560 stackers representing 1,343 organizations from 13 countries and all 50 states stacked together to set a world record.

Sport stacking, which originated in southern California in the early 1980s, promotes eye-hand coordination, fitness and teamwork. For more information about the event, visit www.WorldSportStackingAssociation.org.

The Port Orange Regional Library is open seven days a week at 1005 City Center Circle. To learn more about Volusia County’s 16 library branches, please visit www.volusialibrary.org.
