ECO CHALLENGE DECEMBER 11 IN OSTEEN
The Eco-Geo Challenge scheduled for
Dec. 11 has been cancelled because the road going into the site cannot
be repaired in time. It is being rescheduled for January or February.

Volusia County will host its
first outdoor team survival adventure Saturday, December 11. Only
adventurous people who think outside the box and are interested in
getting wet, dirty, buggy and physically exhausted need to apply.
The GEO-ECHO Challenge will
be held rain or shine from 10 a.m.-1 p. m., at the Volusia Forever
Conservation Land on the St. Johns River at the end of Guise Road,
Osteen. The free event is open to people ages eight and older. Youth
under 18 must be accompanied by a parent.
Participants will use global
positioning satellite (GPS) equipment and team building skills. GPS
units are provided. Education about the site’s ecosystem also will be
included in the challenge.
The deadline to register is
Friday, December 3. Space is limited.
