DeBary Hall to host reception for Very Special Arts Dec. 5

DeBary Hall Historic Site will host a free public reception from 10 - 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, as part of the Artist of the Month program. The exhibit will feature artwork by Very Special Arts of Volusia, a nonprofit organization that provides opportunities for people with disabilities to learn, participate in and enjoy the arts.

The exhibit will be shown in DeBary Hall’s restored stables. Refreshments will be served. Visitors may tour the 139-year old DeBary Hall, visit the gift shop, and walk along the property’s shaded trails.

Those who miss the opening reception may view the artwork while touring DeBary Hall at regular admission prices, which are $5 for adults, $4 for seniors, $2 for children ages 5 - 12, and free for children 4 and younger. DeBary Hall is open from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, and from noon - 4 p.m. Sunday.

The historic site is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It is owned by the state and managed by Volusia County’s Parks, Recreation and Culture Division.
