Leaves
The Florida Basswood's heart-shaped leaves can be up to 8" long and 5" wide. The leaves have coarsely toothed margins and may or may not be white-fuzzy on the underside.

Landscape usage
Florida Basswood is useful as a shade tree. It looks good when planted near the street.

Interesting Facts
The tough and fibrous inner bark of the Florida Basswood was used by probably all Native American peoples for fabric, clothing, cordage, basketry, and canoe construction.
