Junior Lifeguard Program
Ages 9-15

The Junior Lifeguard Program was started in the summer of 1990 as a springboard for the education of Ocean/Beach Safety, Lifesaving Techniques and Beach Ecology.

Junior Lifeguards get plenty of fresh air and sunshine along with exercise and professional surf training. Junior Lifeguards will participate in daily team relays involving surfboard paddling, swimming, running and beach flags.

Beach Explorer Program
Ages 14-18

The Beach Explorer Program is an extension of the seasonal Junior Lifeguard Program. Participants spend weekends throughout the year shadowing Beach Patrol officers.

Explorers gain a more advanced education and are more prepared to transition into full-time beach positions. They are exposed to various law enforcement tasks and overall beach responsibilities.
