Tiger Bay State Forest

Tiger Bay State Forest is an area covering 23,425 acres between DeLand and Daytona Beach. It is a bay swamp ecosystem with pine islands embedded within.

The newest addition, is a ridge bordering into scrubby area. The entire area was severely impacted by the wildfires of 1998. The nature trail was heavily damaged and is presently not in use, but some roads and firebreaks are open for birding, hiking and driving.

A restroom and several picnic tables are available at Forestry Headquarters on U.S. 92 . There is a smaller picnic area beside a pond at Duke's Island, where swimming and boating are permitted (no lifeguard).

The forest is open from 8 a.m.-5 p.m., seven days a week. For more information, call the Forestry Division, Tiger Bay, at (904) 226-0250.
