Housing
Mission: To create and preserve affordable housing for households and
families throughout Volusia County.
Overview:
The Community Assistance Division Housing & Grants Administration
provides assistance to income and program eligible households of Volusia
County. The Community Assistance Division reviews applications and
grants final approval or denial of the household’s eligibility. Programs
that are funded by Volusia County through federal and state grants
include but are not limited to: Housing Rehabilitation, Homebuyer
Assistance, Foreclosure Prevention, Disaster Relief & Repair and the
City of DeLand Sewer Connection. Volusia County provides a mortgage
and/or a lien for those applicants that are approved for and receive
funding.
Affordable Housing Programs
Grants Administration
Mission:
To achieve excellence in administering federal, state and local
community development and housing programs through quality planning and
monitoring.
Overview:
The Grants Administration Activity is responsible for research and
assessment of community needs, planning and developing strategies for
addressing community needs, making applications for funding to implement
strategies, monitoring established programs for regulatory compliance,
and implementing capital improvements. Grants Administration works in
support of other service areas within Community Assistance.
