Art Giles
South Daytona
District 2 representative

Art Giles represents District 2 on the Volusia County Council. He took office in January 2005. District 2 includes South Daytona, Daytona Beach Shores, Wilbur-by-the-Sea and Ponce Inlet. It also includes parts of Daytona Beach, Port Orange and unincorporated Volusia County.

He holds the designations of Certified County Commissioner and Advanced County Commissioner from the Florida Association of Counties.

Giles entered the workforce in 1958 as and electrical apprentice and founded Giles Electric Co. in 1970. He retired from Giles Electric in 2001.

Personal

Giles and his wife, Barbara, have been married since 1960. They have three grown children – Sheri, Brad and Belinda – and four grandchildren. He is a member of Central Baptist Church.
