Congress more than doubled Florida's allotment for the
"Low-Income Housing Energy Assistance Program" (LIHEAP) this fall. For
Volusia County, that means an additional $1.6 million compared to recent
years. Households where the income doesn't exceed 150 percent of the
federal poverty definition are eligible.
