Site description:
Smyrna Dunes sits on 250 acres of pristine land and is located at the northern tip of the New Smyrna Beach peninsula. Panoramic views of the park and the inlet are provided by the observation tower and two miles of nature boardwalk.

Activity description:
Be prepared for an all morning adventure! Get wet while pulling a seine net and learn about the different sea creatures prior to their release. Enjoy a scavenger hunt for beautiful shells and other items that may have been washed ashore. End the day with a one-half mile nature hike on the boardwalk as dune conservation, plants, wildlife and a bit of history are discussed. Keep your eyes open for the friendly park residents Gopher Tortoises, and enjoy the view from the observation tower.

Note: Please bring water, sunscreen, a towel and a hat. It is suggested that ECHO Ranger candidates wear a swimsuit under their clothing as they will get wet during seining.
