HURCON CONDITIONS ACTION

1

Day-to-day operations outside season
(1 Dec - 31 May)
  • Review and update organizational plans.
  • Arrange for maintenance/repair of equipment and replenishment of required supplies.
  • Conduct training.

Day-to-day operations during hurricane season (1 Jun - 30 Nov)
  • Keep informed of location of tropical storms and hurricanes.
  • Equipment and supplies pre-deployed or prepared for deployment as required.

Tropical storm or Hurricane Watch has been set for area that includes Volusia County.

Tropical storm or Hurricane Weather conditions are 48 hours away.

  • Prepare to take immediate action to activate organizational plans.
  • Ensure organizational personnel have been briefed and family responsibilities have been stabilized.
  • Coordinate with Emergency Management as required.
  • Activate Citizen Information Center (CIC).
  • Partial activation of EOC by designated personnel.

Tropical storm or Hurricane Warning has been set for area that includes Volusia County. Tropical storm or hurricane weather conditions expected within 24-36 hours.
  • Complete all preparatory actions.
  • Report action completion/status to Emergency Management in anticipation of evacuation order.
  • Cities coordination with EOC reflect their readiness status.
  • Cities anticipate EPAC meeting.

5

TS or Hurricane WARNING continues for area that includes Volusia County. Projected landfall within 16 hours. EVACUATION ORDERS have been issued for designated areas.
  • Execute evacuation plans.
  • Coordinate/report with EOC.
  • Full activation of EOC.

Weather conditions have passed from immediate Volusia County area. Gale force winds are not present.
  • Continue reporting/coordination with municipalities and county agencies to provide initial community disaster assessment.
  • Implement required emergency ordinances to support community disaster recovery.
OR
Previously expected adverse weather condition has not materialized.
  • Revert to HURCON 2 level of readiness as feasible.
