2009 News Release

For the past 20 years, the Ocean Conservancy and coordinators from around the globe have worked together to create the largest daily volunteer effort in the world. Every year, during the 3rd Saturday in September, volunteers work together to clean beaches, rivers and other waterways. Data collected by volunteers during this annual event is analyzed and tracked from year to year which helps to understand sources of marine debris and to find solutions to the problem.
