Farm Ponds Permitting

kabrahamson@co.volusia.fl.us386-736-5927 x2079 The purpose and intent of a farm pond permit is to allow livestock to have access to fresh water and/or irrigation of agricultural crops. The following requirements must be met in order to obtain a farm pond: - Parcel size must be greater than 10 acres
- Zoning classification must be Agricultural; RA and MH-8 are not applicable zoning classifications
- Have an existing agricultural exemption with the Volusia County Property Appraiser's office
- One farm pond is allowed per parcel
- Size of pond can not exceed 3/4 of an acre
- Side slope can not exceed 3:1 ratioAll farm ponds must be completed within 6 months of receiving approval.
