Emergency Medical Foundation, Inc.
Better known as EVAC Ambulance, the Emergency Medical Foundation is a county-wide, private, non-profit, emergency and non-emergency ambulance transport service. The Emergency Medical Foundation is governed by community-based Board of Directors representing various stakeholders of Volusia County’s emergency medical services system.

EVAC Ambulance
EVAC is committed to serving the community by providing the highest skilled, professional pre-hospital emergency care through the use of extensive training and state of the art medical technology. EVAC utilizes such technology as mobile computer terminals in the ambulances, Automated Vehicle Locators (AVL) using the Global Positioning Satellite (GPS) system and computerized dispatching to provide the fastest possible response times.

Clinically, EVAC’s paramedics undergo rigorous initial and ongoing training, including the use of a specialized cadaver lab to continuously hone their clinical skills.

Emergency Communications Systems, Inc. (ECS)
ECS provides telecommunications and dispatching services to Volusia County Fire Services, the cities of Holly Hill Fire/Rescue, Ormond Beach Fire/Rescue, South Daytona Fire/Rescue and the Volusia/Seminole County Medical Examiner's Offices.

ECS utilizes computer aided dispatch (CAD), Automated Vehicle Locators (AVL) using the Global Positioning Satellite (GPS) system and computerized dispatching to provide the fastest possible response times. The ECS dispatchers also use a system of Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD) to provide emergency medical treatment instructions to caller in an effort to provide immediate, life sustaining procedures while the rescue personnel are still enroute to the scene.
