VOLUSIA COUNTY CURTAILS FIRE
VOLUNTEER/ DONATIONS; SUGGESTS HELPING FLAGLER COUNTY
The outpouring of donations from Volusia County residents
and from around the nation during the Countys wildfire outbreak has been phenomenal.
Individuals and businesses have opened their hearts and pocketbooks, to help with the fire
relief efforts by supporting the valiant firefighters and support personnel.
Due to the tremendous generosity and, now, reduced need, there is no further requirement
for volunteers or supplies donations to the firefighting endeavors in Volusia County.
"We will be directing all callers to Flagler County now," said Deanie Lowe,
ESF-15 Coordinator in charge of volunteers and donations for Volusia County during the
emergency situation. "You could say weve been there and done that," said
Lowe, "And, now, we can show our generosity to our friends to the north."
Anyone willing to donate supplies or to volunteer their services to Flagler County is
encouraged to call (904) 586-2159. Items needed in Flagler include: work pants, shirts,
jackets, gloves, helmets, goggles, powder, trash bags, snacks, pillows and blankets.
