LT. GOVERNOR MCKAY TO VISIT FIRE SCENE

Lt. Governor Buddy McKay is expected to visit with firefighters at 9a.m. tomorrow (Sunday) at the Command Post at SR 415/SR 44. The Lt. Governor will also participate in a morning briefing with emergency officials at the Emergency Operations Center, on 49 Keyton Rd., at approximately 9:30a.m.
All fires in Volusia County remain contained. "It is becoming a maintenance situation. We are controlling the fires---the fires are not controlling us," explained Deputy Chief Jim Mauney, Volusia County Fire Services.

Due to weather conditions, law enforcement advises caution in traveling roadways overnight and into the early morning hours, as visibility may be diminished in some areas.
Operating hours for the Citizen Information Center will change (tomorrow), Sunday, June 28th,. Operators will be on hand to answer calls from 6 a.m. to midnight. To reach the Citizen Information Center, call 254-4658 in Daytona Beach; 736-5902 in West Volusia; or 423-3358 in New Smyrna Beach, and ask for ext. 1409 or 1405. All donations of food and beverages have been suspended because supplies are overstocked after an outpouring of support from citizens.
