Media Alert

Some members of the media have mistakenly reported that AIA is open. A1A is not open at this time into Flagler County. New resources are arriving today from the Florida National Guard including 56 personnel and 20 pieces of heavy equipment.

New fire breakouts include:

  • Florida Shores West of I-95. This is a problem area at this time. Crews are on the scene from fire services and are monitoring the situation.
  • Mary Barnes South of SR 40 on the west side of DeLeon Springs, north of Lake Woodruff. Fire crews are monitoring the situation.
  • Fires occurred overnight in Pierson, Hunter’s Ridge, and Breakaway Trails.
  • Press conferences are scheduled today at 3 p.m. and 9 p.m. at the River Bend Community Church on SR 40 West of Tymbercreek Road.

Road Closures:

  • 1-95 from Brevard to St. Augustine
  • US 1, South of Kennedy Parkway
  • SR 40 West of Tymber Creek (closed to non-residents)
  • No roadways leading into Flagler County from Volusia County are open
  • SR A1A & Highway 11 South from Flagler to Volusia (for evacuees only)

Mandatory Evacuations:

  • Airport Road North to Durrance Lane, Ormond Beach
  • Breakaway Trails, Ormond Beach
  • Hunters Ridge, Ormond Beach
  • Rima Ridge (west of Ormond Beach)

Donations:

The following items are needed and should be delivered to the Salvation Army warehouse, 560 Ballough Road, Daytona Beach; the Salvation Army warehouse at the Daytona Mall; and the School Board warehouse, Shapiro Road, DeLand Airport.

  • Painters masks with changeable filters

  • Baby formula

  • Personal hygiene items

  • Non-perishable snacks and Gatorade

  • New underwear and socks

The following items are needed and should be delivered to the Volusia County Emergency Operations Center, 49 Keyton Drive, Daytona Beach:

  • Coolers
  • Eye drops
  • Burn sprays and ointments
  • Antiseptic wipes
  • Goggles (cup type with foam)
  • Throat lozenges

Donations should not be delivered to fire stations, only to the warehouse locations listed above.

Cash donations are still being accepted for the Volusia County Fire Relief fund and can be made at any First Union Bank.
