Fire Services’
Director Receives Certified Emergency Manager Credential
The International Association of
Emergency Managers has recognized James G. Tauber, Volusia County Fire
Services’ Director and Fire Chief, as a Certified Emergency Manager (CEM).
This designation represents the highest honor of professional
achievement bestowed by the International Association of Emergency
Managers and identifies him as having experience and knowledge of
community-wide participation in planning, coordination and management
functions designed to improve disaster/emergency management.
Chief Tauber met the requirements of this
certification by completing training and education in the field and by
demonstrating a working knowledge of the basic principles of
disaster/emergency management. In addition, he successfully completed a

Every five years his designation of CEM
will be reviewed and Chief Tauber will need to meet specific
requirements to maintain the certification.
