FESS
The Volusia County Fire Services Training Center hosted the quarterly Firefighter Employment Screening Service (FESS). The two- day program provides a standardized pre-employment process that consists of a written examination, skills assessment, and physical ability evaluation that is acknowledged by all fire departments in Volusia County as well as Palm Coast in Flagler County. The final participant results are provided to the participating fire department chiefs for review and potential employment selection. More than 60 candidates participated in day one of the process that began January 20.
Volusia County Fire Services representatives Suzie Darby and Battalion Commander Tim Martin were present to answer candidates' questions about employment with Volusia County Fire Services. Approximately 40 candidates stopped by the information table to discuss potential career opportunities. Additional information regarding FESS can be found at http://www.fessprogram.com/index.htm.
