ARFF apparatus on scene of car fire
The driver of a truck traveling on Bellevue Extension behind the Daytona Beach International Airport noticed flames coming from underneath the driver's side dashboard of the vehicle. The driver pulled the vehicle off to the right side of the road and into the woods and then exited the vehicle along with the passenger.
Volusia County Fire Services Aircraft Rescue Firefighting (ARFF) and Daytona Beach Fire Department responded to the scene with both agencies working to contain the fire to the vehicle. No injuries were reported and it was determined the cause of the vehicle fire was due to a mechanical failure.
