A small pick-up truck carrying two passengers on April 24, 2006,
crashed into a metal light pole while exiting Interstate 4 east to
northbound Interstate 95. The driver was trapped in the vehicle and was
extricated by firefighters. After being extricated, the driver was
upgraded to a trauma alert due to a penetrating injury to his back. The
passenger was not trapped but had to wait for the removal of the driver
before she could be brought out of the vehicle. Both patients were
transported to Halifax Hospital. Engines 15 and 17, Squad 12, Battalion
10, Training 10 and the Fire Police responded to the call.
