Other activities include the receiving of supplies and equipment, inventory and fixed assets. Logistics also oversees the maintenance, modification and coordination of all department facilities, apparatus, fire, rescue and communications equipment. Logistics coordinates the fleet purchase program.
The Fit Firefighter program keeps personnel in optimum condition to perform their jobs in stressful situations and also provides the incentive of an in-house reward programs for those meeting specific fitness levels.
Additionally, the Logistics Team ensures the highest level of efficiency, effectiveness and professionalism will be provided to support fire and rescue operations through radio, data, telephone, network and mobile communications, including the Mobile Command Post, which responds with highly trained dispatchers.
Fire Explorers
Logistics is also responsible for the Fire Explorers program. This program involves young people ages 14 to 18 and instructs them in fire suppression and fire prevention.
