Volusia County Fire Services Approved for Prestigious Life Safety Achievement Award

For its outstanding fire safety statistics resulting in no residential fire deaths in 2001 and 2002, Volusia County Fire Services has been approved to receive the Life Safety Achievement Award for the second year in a row.

The Residential Fire Safety Institute (RFSI), a partnership of the U.S. Fire Administration, the fire service and the private sector, honors departments working to achieve its goals. These goals include the significant reduction of residential fire deaths, injuries and property losses through the use of public awareness and education programs, and the promotion of early warning detection, alarm and fast response-sprinkler technology.

Volusia County Fire Services fully supports these goals and is committed to the protection and fire safety education of the residents in our community.
