Safety Presentations Available to the
Community
Volusia County Fire Services believes in the importance of
keeping the community well informed on fire safety and other safety related issues. We
offer the following services to our customers to ensure their well being:
- Extinguisher demonstrations and instructions on their use and
capabilities are available for employees of nursing homes, hospitals and adult
communities.
- Safety presentations at school and daycares are available for
local children.
- Motor vehicle accident extrication demonstrations may be
scheduled for public events.
- Presentations to local homeowner associations regarding type
and level of their neighborhood fire service are offered.
- Residential home safety surveys identifying potential safety
hazards are available to homeowners.
- Blood pressure checks at shopping centers and health fairs are
offered throughout the year.
- The Fire Safety Trailer educates young children on fire
prevention. The Fire Safety Trailer can be reserved for public events.
- The Juvenile Firesetter Program is customized to instruct an
individual in fire safety. This program is designed to educate juveniles that have
previously displayed unacceptable behavior with fire. Juveniles may be referred to the
program through their parents, school officials or through the juvenile justice system.
