Volusia and Flagler Counties Join Forces to Provide Enhanced E/R Services
The groundbreaking of Station 16, Halifax Plantation, signifies the landmark beginnings of the first Volusia County fire station funded by Volusia County yet staffed by Flagler County firefighters. Both counties will share operating costs. The station will be built within the boundaries of Volusia County but near the Flagler/Volusia county lines. This innovative partnership will save taxpayer dollars while best serving the people within the two counties. The station is expected to open in the first quarter of 2005.
