The Support Services Team provides administrative support
in several areas of the Fire Service, including personnel, purchasing, payables and
budget.
Personnel
Personnel functions include the coordination of all new career hires,
calculating and documenting a bi-weekly payroll and processing all personnel related
paperwork.
Purchasing and Payables
Support Services processes departmental requests and the accompanying
paperwork for any item that Fire Services purchases. Paperwork is processed in accordance
with Volusia County Purchasing guidelines for purchases ranging from engines to nozzles to
ink pens.
Budget
This team also is responsible for the completion of Fire Services
annual budget. This includes the creation and submission of the budget until its final
adoption by County Council, creating any necessary budget transfers or modifications and
the monitoring of the budget throughout the fiscal year.
After a major disaster/emergency situation hits all or part of Volusia County in which
funds will be reimbursed to the county at the national, state or local level, the Support
Services Team goes into action. The team is responsible for coordinating all documentation
regarding the reimbursement of funds.
