New Wind Speed Maps for Building Construction  

On March 15, 2012, The 2010 Florida Building Code takes effect statewide. The new wind speed maps as contained in ASCE7-10 are incorporated into the code. There have been changes in the contours of the wind zones, the location of the wind-borne debris region(s) as well as the provisions for the calculation of pressures. County residential impact fee temporary suspension
On Aug. 18, 2011, the Volusia County Council approved the temporary suspension of county road, parks and fire impact fees for residential permits, applied for on or after July 1, 2011. Please click above to see the map of the areas of the county that are included in this suspension.

Time Change for April 19, 2012 County Council Pubic Hearing for Osteen Rezoning Z-12-008

Public notice announcement to all Osteen residents

The first hearing of the county council regarding the Osteen rezoning and overlay zone is scheduled, as advertised, for a time certain of 11:00 AM on April 19, 2012 (Ordinance No. 2012-06). The meeting will be held in the county council chambers located at 123 W. Indiana Ave. in DeLand.

In the previously mailed notice and during the Planning and Land Development Regulation Commission meeting held on April 10, 2012, staff previously communicated that county council would hear the rezoning at 2:00 PM on April 19, 2012.
