Flagler Sends Firefighters To Help

Bunnell Fl --
Like a good neighbor, Flagler County is returning some of the help it received in fighting wildfires over the years.

On Sunday, Flagler County sent two water tankers to St. Johns County to the north and a strike team (an engine and three firefighters) south to Volusia County to assist with the LPGA fire.

Flagler County Fire/Rescue Chief Don Petito said the county's Fire Flight helicopter was sent to St.Johns County on Sunday when three large fires threatened homes there. Also on Sunday a downed power line sent local crews scrambling in Haw Creek when a fire erupted there. The fire was quickly extinguished.

As of Tuesday, Flagler County also sent two firefighters and a brush truck to Brevard County assisting efforts at that fire.
