As of 12 noon today; a total of (18)
eighteen pumps were operating in the affected areas. Some locations have
multiple pumps in place.
SANDBAGS
Sandbags are available to New Smyrna Beach residents at the Public Works
Complex, 124 Industrial Park Avenue from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sandbags and
sand are free, but residents must bring their own shovel and fill bags
themselves. There is a 20-bag maximum per family and identification will be
required.
CITIZEN INFORMATION LINE
A Citizen’s Information Line will continue to be manned throughout the day
and this evening. Residents with questions should call 424-2114.
ROAD CLOSURES
- Saxon Drive @ 18th Ave is
currently under water and a detour is in place.
- S. Atlantic Ave. @ 12th Ave has
water over the road, but is passable.
- S. Atlantic Ave. is closed at
Columbus Ave. Detour is in place.
- N. Atlantic is closed from
Florida Ave to Crawford Rd. Detour is in place.
- Washington St. between Milford
PL and Bay St. Detour is in place.
- Locust St. 800 block. Detour is
in place.
- Hope St. between Horton St. and
S. Atlantic Ave. Detour is in place.
- Horton between Carol Ave. and
Oakwood Ave. Detour is in place.
- Oakwood Ave. between S.
Atlantic and Horton Ave. Detour is in place.
- Buenos Aires between Flagler
Ave. and Columbus Ave. Detour is in place.
FLOOD
DAMAGE
The City is continuing a damage assessment in the affected areas. As of 2:30
p.m., the assessment revealed that (52) fifty-two structures appeared to be
damaged by floodwater. For flood locations see attached .pdf indicating
yard, street and house flooding.

The current estimated residential / multi-family / commercial-stores /
structure damage value is: $3,148,356.00
GENERAL INFORMATION
All questions related to water, sewer and electric should be directed to the
Utilities Commission at 427-1361.
After the storms pass, residents needing to have any work done to their
homes and yards should hire only licensed and permitted contractors.
Residents should ask to see the permit and license. If there are any
questions, residents should call 424-2114 and the City will check the
contractor’s status.
