Lifts Outdoor Burn Ban
The City of Deltona has lifted its ban on outdoor burning effective May 26,
2009. Recent rains have reduced the high drought level indicators and
reduced the threat of wild fires. The burn ban which has been in effect for
the City of Deltona since January 10th of this year was necessary as drought
conditions remained in the Central Florida area.
Fire Chief Robert Staples states “the
likelihood of wildfires posing a threat to residents and visitors of the
City of Deltona has decreased significantly; we must all still be cautious
while attending any outdoor fires and make sure that any outdoor burning has
adult supervision & follows local ordinances.” If you have any questions you
can call Deltona Fire Department at 386-860-7177
