Donations for Flood Victims Accepted at Daytona Beach Fire Stations

While the standing water has receded, hundreds of residents are left with damaged homes and unexpected out-of-pocket expenses. Many are in dire need of basic items including toiletries, cleaning supplies and more. Non-cash donations
from the community will be accepted at city's seven fire stations.

Items collected will be distributed to the city's flood victims.

"There are families in our community who lost everything they own due to their homes being flooded. They are in desperate need of everyday, basic items that most of us take for granted. We have received many calls from concerned residents asking how they can help devastated residents.
Donating items is the best way to assist these residents," said Mayor Glenn Ritchey. This morning, Mayor Ritchey also appealed to several private businesses for contributions.

Items requested for flood-impacted residents are the following:

  • deodorant
  • liquid or powdered soap
  • feminine hygiene products
  • wash cloths
  • toothpaste
  • tooth brushes
  • wet wipes
  • underwear
  • adult socks
  • adult t-shirts
  • denture cleaning products
  • adult diapers (large or extra-large)
  • rubber gloves
  • bleach
  • razors
  • hairbrushes/combs
  • child diapers
  • bandages
  • insect repellent
  • garbage bags
  • air mattresses.

Once items are collected, "comfort kits" will be distributed
door-to-door to flood victims as quantities allow.

Items can be dropped off 24-hours a day at the following Daytona Beach fire stations:

  • Fire Station #1
    301 S. Beach Street
  • Fire Station #2
    126 Botefuhr Avenue
