Flu-Fighter Kick-Off

DAYTONA BEACH - Fire Station 3 (945 North Halifax Ave.) is the official location for the 2009 Flu-Fighter Kick-Off. Starting at 2:00pm, Mayor Glenn Ritchey and the Commissioner from Zone 5 Derrick L. Henry will be on hand to announce the Flu Shot kick-off program. Both City officials will demonstrate how to get flu shot by driving through the station on a golf cart and receiving the shot. Bethune Cookman College Nursing Program has joined the city in support of this community health event. We are also pleased to announce that Dr. Bonnie Sorensen director of the Volusia County Health Department will offer comments on the importance of getting vaccinated. These 2,000 thimerosal-free/mercury-free shots will be administered starting Sept. 1 at four participating Daytona Beach fire stations, at a cost of $25.00. The Daytona Beach Fire Department will accept cash, check and Medicare as a form of payment.

Daytona Beach Fire Department Station drive-thru locations that offer flu shots:

  • Fire Station 3 - 945 North Halifax Ave. on the corner of University
    Blvd. and N. Halifax. Next to the water tower.
  • Fire Station 4 - 1675 Mason Ave. Corner of Jimmy Ann Dr. and Mason Ave.
  • Fire Station 6 - 2020 Beville Rd. across from Pelican Bay east entrance
  • Fire Station 7 - 2545 LPGA Blvd. next to the entrance of LPGA Subdivision and the Daytona Auto Mall
    Time: 7:00am -7:00pm Monday – Sunday
