Mission: To protect Volusia County's water resources for both
current and future users by expanding water and wastewater facilities to
accommodate new development and allow for elimination of package plants
and septic systems; to provide safe, clean water to citizens of Volusia
County.
The Utility operates as an enterprise
fund, meaning it is not supported with tax dollars but rather totally
funded through water, waste water and reuse service revenues and utility
capacity fees.
Organization
Volusia County Water Resources and Utilities Division is comprised of -
Division Administration, Billing, Engineering, Operations
Administration, Operations-Water/Wastewater, Collection and Distribution and
Grove Operations. Division Administration oversees the entire division,
Operations Administration supports all field
activities including operation of 15 wastewater and 14 water treatment
facilities. The Billing organization provides customer and billing service to the 15,000+ Utility customers. Engineering conducts
development reviews, designs and reviews service enhancements and
oversees plant expansions. Water/Wastewater Collection and
Distribution provides maintenance to the county's
treatment systems and 850 miles of utility pipeline. Grove operations supplies maintenance
and labor for the County's 200+ acre citrus Grove.
