Compost/Xeriscape Demonstration Parks

Demonstration parks have been developed to provide education on reducing yard waste through "common sense" landscaping. They are located at: the Volusia County Agricultural Center, DeLand, the Deltona Library, Bicentennial Park in Ormond-By-The-Sea and the Library Center at City Island, Daytona Beach (children's entrance).

Composting
Composting is a simple way of converting yard waste and kitchen vegetable scraps into a nutrient rich soil additive called compost. But composting doesn't stop at helping your gardens. It also reduces your residential trash by as much as one third.

Contact the Master Gardener Program at the Volusia County/University of Florida Cooperative Extension Service for answers to your composting questions.

For more information, please contact the University of Florida/Volusia County Extension at (386) 257-6012 in Daytona Beach; (386) 822-5778 in West Volusia, or (386) 423-3368 in New Smyrna Beach.
