Volusia County Local Business Tax
(formerly Occupational License)

All businesses with a physical location in the Volusia County are required to have a current Volusia County Business Tax Receipt unless exempt per Section 114-1(b) Tax Schedule of the Volusia County Code of Ordinances (click here for the list of exempt classifications).

The tax year is from October 1 each year through September 30 of the following year. Bills for each year are mailed on July 1st. A new receipt is issued for each year the tax is paid.

Data Downloads
New business lists for each of the previous six months, as well as the complete list of over 30,000 currently registered businesses, are available in the following formats:

Microsoft Word document - (printable report for the most recent month)
Flat ascii text file - (self extracting archive- once extracted, there will be a text file for each of the past six months, a Main file with all businesses currently registered, and a Read Me file explaining the file layouts.  Text files can be imported into spreadsheets programs for manipulating & analyzing data, creating labels, etc.)
Microsoft Access file - (self extracting archive- once extracted the database comes with pre-set reports & data tables for the past six months.  Experienced Access users can also easily create their own queries, reports, etc. )
