According to witnesses, a man walked into the bank, passed a note to a teller and made off with an undisclosed amount of money. No weapon was displayed or seen during the incident, and witnesses weren’t certain if the suspect left the area in a vehicle after the robbery. Patrol deputies began converging on the scene less than two minutes after the call came in and were quickly joined in the search by K-9 units, motorcycle deputies and a Sheriff’s Office helicopter. As of 12:45 p.m. Friday afternoon, the robber had not been located. Witnesses at the bank described the suspect as an approximately 35-year-old white man with a goatee. He was about 5’5” and weighed approximately 180 pounds and was last seen wearing blue jeans, a black shirt, a black ball cap and dark sunglasses.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at (386) 860-7030 or Crime Stoppers of Northeast Florida, toll-free, at (888) 277-TIPS. Callers to Crime Stoppers will remain anonymous and can qualify for a reward of up to $1,000.
