BANK
ROBBERY IN DELTONA UNDER INVESTIGATION
A bank robbery late
Friday morning at the Sun Trust branch on Deltona Boulevard in Deltona
is under investigation by the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office. No one
was injured in the robbery, which was reported at 11:32 a.m.

According to
witnesses, a man walked into the bank, passed a note to a teller and
made off with an undisclosed amount of money. No weapon was displayed or
seen during the incident, and witnesses weren’t certain if the suspect
left the area in a vehicle after the robbery. Patrol deputies began
converging on the scene less than two minutes after the call came in and
were quickly joined in the search by K-9 units, motorcycle deputies and
a Sheriff’s Office helicopter. As of 12:45 p.m. Friday afternoon, the
robber had not been located. Witnesses at the bank described the suspect
as an approximately 35-year-old white man with a goatee. He was about
5’5” and weighed approximately 180 pounds and was last seen wearing
blue jeans, a black shirt, a black ball cap and dark sunglasses.
