DEPUTIES SEARCHING FOR MISSING 84-YEAR-OLD ENTERPRISE MAN

The Volusia County Sheriff’s Office is searching for an 84-year-old man with Alzheimer’s disease who left his home in Enterprise to take a walk Sunday afternoon and hasn’t been seen since. Family members said John Angel left for a walk at about 4:30 p.m. Sunday. They called to report Angel missing shortly before 7:30 p.m. when he failed to return to his home on Prairie Road.

Patrol deputies along with a Sheriff’s Office helicopter and K-9 unit have been scouring the area searching for Angel, but as of 9:45 p.m. had found no sign of the missing man. The Sheriff’s Office also has initiated neighborhood telephone alerts through A Child Is Missing and also is requesting assistance from the tracking bloodhounds at Tomoka Correctional Institution.

Angel is about 5’11” and 200 pounds and has gray hair that’s balding on the top. Anyone who sees Angel is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at (386) 736-5999.

Angel was found safe and sound and returned to his family.
