VIDEO OF
PHARMACY ROBBERY SUSPECT RELEASED
The
Volusia County Sheriff’s Office released surveillance video Wednesday
of a man who robbed a Deltona grocery store pharmacy Saturday afternoon
in the hope that the images and a reward of up to $1,000 will prompt
someone to come forward with the suspect’s identity. The young man
gave to the pharmacy employees a note that demanded Oxycontin and warned
that he had a gun. The pharmacist handed the man several bottles of the
drug and he then fled. No weapon was actually seen and no one was
injured.

The
Sheriff’s Office was notified that there was a robbery at the Publix
pharmacy, 605 Courtland Blvd., at approximately 2:43 p.m. The suspect

pharmacist was getting the keys she needed to unlock a cabinet, the
robber slapped the counter and said, “This is no joke.” The
pharmacist got some Oxycontin bottles out of the cabinet and handed them
to the robber. He then grabbed his note and fled the store.
The
robber was described as a white male, between 19 and 25 years old. He is
approximately 5’8” tall and 150 pounds with short, brown hair. He
wore a navy blue polo T-shirt with white horizontal spin striping on
both sides and blue jeans.
