82-YEAR-OLD DELTONA MAN REPORTED MISSING
The Volusia County Sheriff’s Office is
seeking
the public’s help in locating a missing 82-year-old Deltona man with
Alzheimer’s Disease. Henry Cordes drove off from his home on
Monument Drive early Thursday morning on his way to an 8:50 a.m.
doctor’s appointment in Orange City. Cordes, however, never made it
to the doctor and hasn’t been seen since. His last known stop was at
a bank on Elkcam Boulevard at 8:55 a.m. Cordes’ wife reported him
missing to the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office just before 2 p.m.
Thursday afternoon.
Deputies searched the area, checked at
local shopping plazas and called area hospitals, but have been
unable to find Cordes. Bulletins were sent out to area law
enforcement agencies and the Sheriff’s Office also initiated the
issuance of a statewide Silver Alert through the Florida Department
of Law Enforcement.
Cordes was driving a gray, 1995 Plymouth
Voyager with a Florida tag, J48 QUJ. The vehicle has white tape
across the rear tail lights and paint peeling off around the front
windows. Cordes is 5’8” and weighs about 210 pounds, has blue eyes
and white hair. He wears glasses and is missing his front teeth and
was dressed in gray sweat pants and a grey, button down shirt.
Anyone with information regarding Cordes’ whereabouts is asked to
call the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office at (386) 736-5999.
Update:
Henry Cordes was
found at a 7-11 store at SR 434 and Wekiva Springs Lane in
Altamonte Springs at 8:33 p.m. by the Florida Highway
Patrol. FHP advised his son that Cordes was in good
condition and his family had been notified.
