DELTONA
PHARMACY ROBBED
A robber
made off with prescription drugs during a hold-up at the
Deltona Pharmacy on Deltona Boulevard late Thursday
morning. No one was injured during the robbery, which is
under investigation by the Volusia County Sheriff’s
Office. The robber came into the pharmacy around 11 a.m.
and handed employees a note saying he was armed and
demanding OxyCoton and Dilaudid. Witnesses, however,
said the man never displayed a weapon. The pharmacist
complied with the demands of the robber, who fled the
store after getting the drugs and drove off in a gold or
brown Toyota Corolla.
The
Sheriff’s Office was notified of the robbery at 11:06
a.m. Deputies began converging on the scene three
minutes later. A K-9 unit along with investigators also
assisted in the search, but were unable to locate the
suspect. He was described as a white man who’s about
5’10” and weighs about 240 pounds. He has black hair and
was wearing a white shirt, dark suit jacket, sunglasses
and a black ball cap. Anyone with information about the
